About

I am O Red. I like red things.
I am passionately driven to craft digital experiences in new and exciting ways. I have a hunger for knowledge, a thirst for thrilling endeavors, and an undying desire to make the most of the gifts God has given me. In a self-deprecating manner, I explain the appearance of this website as follows: It looks like a high-school kid made it for a class project that he didn’t give a hoot about back in 1999. But no really, it hasn’t been updated because “paying clients come first.” Contact me if you’d like some consultation regarding your businesses’ digital strategy.

Here is a quick glimpse into what shapes the core of my being:

Personal

The dedication to climb out of tough times and reach towards success has been innately ingrained in me through the actions of my heroic mother. She successfully raised four sons, alone, with very little money. In doing so, she taught us that goals are reached through hard work and resoluteness. The inspiration that springs from such a shining example of perseverance instilled in me a drive to make her proud and be the best person I can be.

My father’s life and subsequent death profoundly impacted my life. He was completely absent from my childhood even though he lived in the next town. He chose to physically and financially abandon his wife and four children instead of working through a difficult period. Through observing the damage his crucial life mistakes caused my family, I developed fundamental core values of maintaining honesty, integrity and discipline. By staying in continuous pursuit of these virtues, I feel I can right the wrongs of my father and prevent history from repeating itself.

Manifesting these values at the age of 19, and after over 11 years of no contact, I sent my father a letter in an attempt to maturely address the pain that was buried deep within. I was not angry or accusatory when I wrote, “it is impossible to think everything good in me came from Mom.” The ability to overcome my fears, forgive and find hope in what was an unfortunate situation symbolizes a depth of character fostered by my mother and tested by my experience with my father. Ultimately, the letter enabled my father to reunite with his children and thus salvaged the precious years he had left before his death three years ago. While scars still remain, I have fond memories of our time together and am grateful for the therapeutic closure.

The starkly different influences of my parents have enabled me to grow into a multifaceted leader who views obstacles as challenges rather than roadblocks. I am thankful for the lessons of my youth and have developed a business acumen that reflects this character. I believe the compassion I have for others will help me be a more effective manager. Although I am still a work in progress, I possess confidence that comes from determination. I aspire to succeed in technology management so that I can provide for a loving family and make a difference in the world.

Background

Hometown

I grew up in Franklin Lakes, NJ. That is the town the ‘hit’ reality show The Real Housewives of New Jersey is filmed.

My mom and dad built the house in a cul-de-sac behind woodside ave school before all these big mansions started popping up all over the place.

A few classmates of mine growing up were Chris Simms, son of 1986 superbowl MVP of the NY Giants and current CBS Sportcaster Phil Simms. I used to sleep over there all the time and Phil would cook waffles for breakfast.

Family

Coincidentally enough, Phil works with my uncle, Jim Nantz at CBS. Uncle Jim is an amazing guy. I remember a few years ago heading into New York to see Uncle Jim work the half time show at CBS Studios.

I have 3 older brothers. They are loud, strong, athletic, Jersey boys. There are a few things to say about them:

  • Chris, 39, lives in South Beach and was recently on a reality tv show on TV Land called “First Love Second Chance.” The episode is called Chris and Pam and if you have a half hour of your life you don’t ever want to get back, you can still watch it here. On a serious note, Chris is a recovering alcoholic and we are so very proud him for overcoming his demons and making the choice to be sober.
  • Jon, 35, also lives in South Beach with his wife Kelly. They were also on a reality tv show: The Amazing Race, they came in 2nd to Chip and Reichen. I have become one of those obsessed uncles since they had baby William Blake Corso on the same day as my mother’s birthday.
  • Eric, 33, lives 12 blocks away from me in Gramercy. He doesn’t like being called a womanizer cause it messes up his game. However, to his credit, he is very fun to hang out with because of his contagious laugh and happy-go-lucky demeanor.

Everyone loves hearing about famous/celebrity stuff so i’ll keep going.

Our first cousin, Billy Corso is an Oscar winning/Emmy winning makeup artist in Hollywood. He won the Oscar for Lemony Snicket and the Emmy for Grey Gardens which happens to be one of the most depressing movies I have ever seen. He has a beautiful wife and 2 wonderful daughters.

Any discussion of my family definitely not be complete without mentioning my mother, Christine, who is famous for raising 4 sons all by herself with practically zero money. She sacrificed her youth for me and my brothers.
